I started becoming disenchanted in the second book, with what he started with Rita’s kids. I’ll probably check out the fourth book, though, to see how he resolves Dexter’s discovery about the nature of his Dark Passenger — will he continue with that thread or shrug it off?

Yeah, I was put off by the direction of the third novel. I still liked it, but it seemed quite the departure.

I like the show a lot, and I, too, watched the first episode and like its direction for the season.

Thanks to being a Showtime VIP I got to watch Dexter early (I got the email about 2 weeks ago) and I was impressed. I love that show. It never lets me down. I hope you like it better than the books.
