The Dog Days of Summer
After a late start, the hurricane season is off and racing, with a 1-2-3 punch of storms being named all within a day. The most serious of them, Bill, looks like it might be what is called a “fish storm,” … Continue reading

50 bands
I finished my review of Audrey’s Door last night and sent it off to Dead Reckonings. Two months ahead of deadline, no less. I’m in desk-clearing mode again. This morning I wrote my Storytellers Unplugged essay, which I’ll proof this … Continue reading

This is the first full review I’ve seen for Tesseracts Thirteen. The punch line: “hands down recommendation from me on Tesseracts 13. Whatever it takes to get this collection in your hands….you will not be disappointed!” Had to work late … Continue reading

Operation rose
I’m putting pretty much everything else aside to read Under the Dome. My evening is spent reading, as is my morning writing time slot. I’m about 555 pages in after two days, so I think I’ll be able to finish … Continue reading

NCIS squared
I received the 1080-page book last night. I opened the front door to speak with someone collecting signatures for a petition–a very perky young lady named Scarlett–and there it was, leaning up against the doorframe like a stack of bricks. … Continue reading

My name is Charlie
A very clever conclusion to The Closer last night. They had people confessing left, right and center, and the DA thought for a moment that the real confession was going to be inadmissible because the suspect (a rather eleventh hour … Continue reading
