Fore!
I finished the first revision round on the WiP, reducing it from 4400 words to 4000 in the progress, which is pretty much par for the course. I tend to overwrite by about 10% in the first draft. Another day … Continue reading

Crossing swords
I’m getting ready to leave for the airport to fly to Boston, where I will be attending Crime Bake for the next couple of days. I’ll report on it when I get back, and will probably post tweets if the … Continue reading

My former self
I finally pulled the trigger on the short story in progress this morning. I read it through aloud last night, made a few minor touch-up changes, keyed them in this morning and shipped it off to the market. I was … Continue reading

That sounds like a profile
I trimmed another 200 words from the story I’m working on this morning. This thing is going to be a lean, mean fighting machine when I’m done with it. Anorexic, even. So, another Survivor contestant opened his mouth at tribal … Continue reading

Killers
Houston Texans not so impressive today. I started watching at halftime, when it was 10-3, and it’s been downhill since. I’m trying to trim an old urban fantasy short story that has always been nearly 10,000 words long down enough … Continue reading
