  • Anyone here watch Peaky Blinders? Thoughts?

i tried watching this when it first landed on TV, but for whatever reason i can’t remember now, i just wasn’t drawn in.
I lovvvved this series. A difficult watch at times, but excellent story. I hope it's continued.

  • John Simm is so good at playing the good guy, the bad guy, the morally bankrupt loser.
I just found a very young (~25 years old) John Simm in the ""Best Boys" segment of season 3 of Cracker

I have Cracker in my watchlist, a couple of season ones under my belt.

But guess what i just skipped to? He’s so cute! And really young, recognizable but fresh faced.

    25 playing 17.

I wish the transfer was better -- the overall picture quality is terrible. But I remember watching and enjoying the series first time 'round many years ago. I find Fitz harder to stand these days. And all the on-again, off-again with Judith.

  • Watched Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story. A documentary about the infamous serial killer couple that killed at least 12 young girls. Sent chills down my spine because we hear not just interviews with the main people but the tapes that the police made of the interviews at the time. One other thing that made this hit home was that i now realize that i was at a dig outside Gloucester in 1987 when they killed their last known victim, their own daughter, and spent some evenings at pubs there. Somehow it strikes different when you realize that you were there while it happened. Illogical perhaps but there it is.

I, Jack Wright is keeping my attention.
I wonder what Emily's earth-shattering revelation is going to be. Just one episode left to go.

It doesn’t appear to be the obvious?  But whatever it is, Emily said it could be corroborated?  And I think the corroborator is:

I think emily is very slick and calculating.

I think the corroboration is going to come from Kyle and the text messages. I think Emily got Reuben to kill Jack because he thought she had been sexually abused.

Kyle unwittingly is a pawn, set up to find those texts. Emily will say Reuben acted alone.

We never see John’s wife (Georgia) in these interviews. Or Grandma.  Where are they? Is John a big weird artist now? Or in a mental facility? Emily appears free. John Simm appears free. Just Reuben and sally look incarcerated.

    I don’t know.

I'm looking forward to seeing that. I read the book before I interviewed Martha Wells a few weeks ago.

  • Black Doves. Quite good. Starring Keira Knightley and Sarah Lancashire. About a woman who runs a spy network (Lancashire) who steals secrets from every side and sells to highest bidder and one of her top undercover agents thats married to the british defence minister (Knightley). Its an action drama with solid performances from the leads.
