In his chat with Linwood Barclay at Bloody Scotland, Steve revealed that he is working on a Holly Gibney novel set in 2021 where coronavirus will be a part of the plot.

I’m still reading Finders Keepers and understanding Holly better.  Her TV presence seemed so different from the first book — i had trouble with her visual character.

She is certainly a character that has developed. The Holly from Mr Mercedes and the Holly from The Outsider and If It Bleeds are very different.

I'm still reading The Outsider and absolutely, the Holly from the Mr. Mercedes trilogy would not recognise this Holly.
She'd probably look up to her though.
