The Dead Zone producer dies

edited November 2005 in General news
Well this is certainly sad news for anyone who has enjoyed “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, a series that I contend is the best of the bunch — well-written, well-acted, and just simply brilliant in execution. It may be dated, but that show still ranks as the smartest sci-fi show I’ve had the pleasure to see.

Now here’s news that one of its producers, Michael Piller, has just passed away at the too-young age of 57, having lost his fight with the Big C.

Besides “Star Trek: TNG”, Piller recently adapted Stephen King’s novel “The Dead Zone” into the successful and long-running USA Network series starring Anthony Michael Hall.

According to the official “Star Trek” site, Piller suffered from an aggressive form of head and neck cancer, and lost his battle with the disease on the morning of November 1.
