We'll begin shipping The Secretary of Dreams by Stephen King to our customers in the next couple of days so this is your last chance to preorder the first Limited Edition graphic collection of King's work! With a trimsize of 9 X 12 this is our largest book ever, and we think it's going to make an impressive addition to your collection. We've taken a picture of The Secretary of Dreams Gift Edition next to a copy of The Colorado Kid so you can get a feel for the size. You can find this picture in the special artwork and photo section for The Secretary of Dreams in our website's Photo Section.

PLEASE NOTE: Everyone on our staff is going to be working in the warehouse to ship this title, along with the additional staff we've hired just to work on this project, so there might be a delay in responding to emails and phone calls. Please do not call or email asking when your copy will ship. We're going to be working hard to ship the thousands of preorders as fast as possible. Thanks for your patience!
  • Volume 2 will include: The Monkey, Gray Matter, Nona, Strawberry Spring, One for the Road, and In the Deathroom.
  • Dorman T. Shindler review in St. Louis Dispatch

All over the field when it comes to publishing — graphic novels, anthologies, reprints — Cemetery Dance helps an icon keep his name in the spotlight (not that help was needed) with "The Secretary of Dreams" (Cemetery Dance, 260 pages, $75) a "Twilight Zone"-like anthology featuring illustrated works by Stephen King that are reminiscent of the "EC" horror comics the author professes to love. The tales gathered here — featuring hordes of invading zombies, a haunted truck and a "storm" of frogs — are well-suited to the treatment.

And Glen Chabourne's pen and ink, nightmarish, illustrations (featuring lots of skeletal detail, rotting skin and deranged stares) is the perfect accompaniment. The difference here is that none of King's words is edited, so the illustrations enhance rather than replace the prose. That makes for near perfection when it comes to King's 1981 World Fantasy-winning story, "The Reach," a story Joyce Carol Oates once termed elegantly composed.
  • Excellent. Looking forward to my copy even more now.
  • In other Stephen King news, we've received hundreds of emails asking about Volume Two of The Secretary of Dreams, and we're pleased to report that Glenn Chadbourne is nearing completion of the artwork! We expect to receive the first batch of illustrations this week, and the next batch soon after. The samples he already sent us are amazing and we can't wait to show them off.

We'll post more updates as this project gets a little closer to being officially announced, but we can tell you right now that we'll have an official procedure in place soon for "registering" your Limited Edition number from Volume One *IF* you bought your signed copy from someone other than Cemetery Dance or a few select booksellers.

If you ordered your Limited Edition directly from Cemetery Dance, we already have your number in our records and you will not have to do anything to get that same number on Volume Two! If you bought your Limited Edition of Volume One off eBay or through another source, you will have to provide proof of ownership to receive a matching number. We'll post complete details next time!
