Why would I do that?

So, last night I watched the Red Sox game and caught one of the commentators interviewing SK in the stands. Stephen had a book in his hand and the commentator asked him what was he reading, and then said, "Are you reading one of your books?"
SK's reply? "Why would I be reading one of my books? I know how they end."
