The Illusion
This 1300-word short story was accepted yesterday for an anthology that will be published later on this year. Once I get permission from the editor to announce the market, I will do so.
This story was originally written in response to a prompt from the Wee Small Hours contest that Hellnotes ran under its previous administration, but it didn't win that month's contest. I revamped it for the anthology and sent it out on Christmas Day, no less!
