Groundwood

edited March 2008 in Short Stories
My short story Groundwood was accepted today for publication in Wrong World, an interesting market where stories are distributed on DVD with opening and closing narrations like a Twilight Zone episode!

  • “Groundwood” will appear in July’s WRONG WORLD® collection “INFLATION—Things that go big in the night.”
  • Here's the promo message Wrong World sent out to subscribers:

Warning! Never play “Paper-Rock-Scissors” with WRONG WORLD® writer Bev Vincent.

This warning is especially true if Bev brings a grade of paper stock to your contest called groundwood. Here’s why.

“Groundwood” is Bev Vincent’s tale about a new papermaking process that makes bloody headcheese sausage grinding seem like a white-gloved TV affair starring a pearled-up Martha Stewart.

We just purchased Bev’s very scary story. Here’s the logline:

“Groundwood”—A paper mill reformulates with a new ingredient and produces the perfect category killer.

“Groundwood” will appear in July’s WRONG WORLD® collection “INFLATION—Things that go big in the night.”

    Full Disclosure:

    1. “Groundwood” is 100% USDA Certified Grade “A+” Bev Vincent

    2. “Groundwood” is Certified Safe to read. “Groundwood” will be delivered to readers with 0% groundwood paper content. So, if you’ve heard rumors, just relax. They’re mostly not true. Mostly.

  • Here's the audio/video trailer for Groundwood. If that link doesn't work go to www.wrongworld.com and click on the link below Wrong World previews at the bottom of the "TV screen." It's pretty cool.
  • Very cool and an interesting marriage of mediums. Could be one of the possible futures of how writing will evolve.
  • From WrongWorld:

We are launching a really cool, ongoing promotion: A 10% discount that you may immediately offer to your fans on all WRONG WORLD® purchases. All your readers need to do is enter your name -- Bev -- in the coupon field at checkout and they will instantly receive the discount.
  • Sold this as a reprint to Best New Zombie Tales. Not sure which volume it will be in yet.
