  • February 1, 2006: Cullen Douglas (Guy) will guest star in episodes of CSI (Feb 2) and The Shield (Feb 7) in the coming few days. (picture) Chaney Kley will be on the same episode of The Shield.

  • December 7, 2005: Issue #249 of Fangoria magazine has a full page feature (page 18) about Stephen King's Gotham Café.

  • November 11, 2005: Cullen Douglas (Guy) and Chaney Kley (Steve) together again... Cullen and Chaney both appear in the same upcoming episode of FX's The Shield. They actually share a scene, but don't directly interact. Cullen guest stars as Dr. Lesser, head of Mission Cross' ER, while Chaney appears in his recurring role as police officer Asher. Shooting for the episode is now in production.

  • November 4, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café will be screening Saturday, November 12th at 4:00 PM at the Crown Harbour Theatre in Annapolis Maryland as an official selection of the Annapolis Film Festival.

  • October 24, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is screening in several cities in North America this week.

  • Westwood International Film FestivalOctober 17: Stephen King's Gotham Café received the honor of being awarded FINALIST for BEST SHORT at The Westwood International Film Festival in Los Angeles.

  • October 14, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café inspired Rhode Island artist Jennifer Galasso, who saw the film at NECON, to create a cover for The Horror Fiction Review based on a scene featuring Bill Humboldt (Kevin Brief).

  • October 6, 2005: Kevin Brief (Bill Humboldt) appears in the new ABC show Hot Properties which airs on October 14th. He plays Stan the Super. He also recently wrapped an episode of Night Stalker called "Burning Man" that airs Thurs, Oct 20 on ABC. Click here for (possibly disturbing) pictures of the prosthetic effects.

  • October 5, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is proud to be an official selection of the Westwood International Film Festival, held at the historic Majestic Crest Theatre. The film will screen on October 13th at 10:30 PM to close this great event. See pictures here.

  • October 2, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is now a five-time award winner! This time the screenwriters have received the Best Adaptation Award from the The International Horror and Sci-Fi Festival. Lion's Gate Films will be reviewing the winning screenplays.

  • September 26, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is proud to be a part of the horror slate of the Rhode Island International Film Festival, which runs October 27-30 in Providence. See here for tickets and information.

  • September 20, 2005: Kevin Brief (Humboldt) will don extensive prosthetics again for ABC's Night Stalker. Kevin is currently filming an episode where his character spontaneously combusts!

  • September 19, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is honored to be an official selection of the Cinemuerte International Film Festival October 26-31st which takes place in Vancouver Canada. See here for tickets and information.

    We are sad to report the passing of David Essex. David was the owner of Essex Productions, the company that provided the grip and lighting equipment for Stephen King's Gotham Café. David had a big heart and was very generous with Gotham Café, giving us reduced rates and other breaks. He remained behind the scenes, not seeking credit for himself or his company but just wanting to pay it forward and help give a little first time filmmaker her break. David will be greatly missed.

  • September 15, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is an official selection of the Bethel Film Festival in Bethel CT, and will be screening on October 28th. Tickets go on sale October 1st. For more information see here.

  • September 13, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café screens at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors on Sunday, September 25th at 6:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands, Secaucus, NJ.

  • September 12, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café is an official selection of the International Horror and SCI-FI Film Festival in Tempe Arizona showcasing the finest new talent in horror and sci-fi and celebrating the masters. The Festival is hosted by the Phoenix Film Festival and Fangoria. Gotham will be screening 10/22 and 10/23.

  • September 12, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café won awards for Best Director, Best Actor (Chaney Kley), Best Special Effects and Best Cinematography at the 2005 Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and the Supernatural in Las Vegas. These awards are even more meaningful as the feature film and shorts categories were combined. For the first time ever a short film swept a festival garnering awards meant for features!

  • September 8, 2005: Cullen Douglas (Guy) recently shot an appearance on HBO's Deadwood. The buzz ... it could possibly turn recurring. He's also currently in the middle of shooting a guest appearance on the WB's Charmed. Cullen plays "The Imp Master." The episode is slated to air Oct. 23.

  • Los Angeles International Festival of Short FilmSeptember 1, 2005:  Stephen King's Gotham Café is an official selection of the Los Angeles International Festival Of Short Film held at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood September 6-13th.

  • August 30, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café will be screening at the 2005 Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and the Supernatural in Las Vegas September 9-11th at the Neonopolis Theatre Complex located on historic Fremont Street.   • July 26, 2005: Cullen Douglas "Guy" has parlayed his recent guest appearance on Lifetime's "Strong Medicine" into a recurring role. Keep a lookout for Cullen as Tom Abrams, the Rittenhouse Hospital's overworked and always frazzled toxicologist. 

  • July 21, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café will have its official première in Bangor at the 2nd Annual Dollar Baby Film Fest on September 30.

  • July 13, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café  is honored to be selected to screen at the Dragon*Con Film Festival, America's largest annual convention for fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror, comics and art, games and computers, animation, science, music, television and films. 

  • July 12, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café has been invited to screen at the Rome International Film Festival September 8-11. 

  • June 28, 2005: Stephen King's Gotham Café will screen at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors in New York, which is being held at the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands, Secaucus, NJ, September 24-25, 2005.

  • June 14, 2005  Stephen King's Gotham Café is an official selection of the 19th Annual Fantasy Film Fest in Germany. Gotham Café is proud to be of only ten shorts chosen from thousands of submissions worldwide to screen in the Festival's extremely popular GET SHORTY program.   • June 3, 2005 Stephen King's Gotham Café is an official selection of the deadCENTER Film Festival in Oklahoma City. The film will be screening at the IAO gallery on June 10th. For tickets go to this site

  • May 24, 2005. Stephen King's Gotham Café has been invited to screen at the 2005 Northeastern Writers Conference (NECON) held in Rhode Island July 14-17. The top horror writers historically attend this conference as a retreat with their peers. This years attendees include Peter Straub, Douglas Clegg, Jack Ketchum, F. Paul Wilson and Douglas E. Winter. 

  • May 11, 2005. Cullen Douglas just wrapped a guest role on Lifetime's Strong Medicine and is currently prepping for an upcoming guest appearance on TNT's new series Wanted. Airdates and juicy details to follow...

  • After reviewing a rough cut of Gotham Café, Stephen King has graciously allowed Turtle Bay Entertainment to change the movie's title to Stephen King's Gotham Café.

  • March 7, 2005: Filmmaker Julie Sands and Co-Producer Steve Wozniak attend Cinequest.

  • Cullen Douglas (GUY) will now be recurring in the role of "Patrick" on NBC's Scrubs. He's also currently shooting an appearance on HBO's Six Feet Under, and can next be seen in a guest appearance on ABC's Alias, March 16. In the episode he plays "Jimmy," an ex-patriot with some very important top secret information - it's so classified that he knows giving it up will cost him his life...

  • Turtle Bay is pleased to announce Steve A. Yeaman as Sound Designer and Sound Supervisor on Stephen King's Gotham Café. Steve has worked in the film and television industry for 20 years.He has done highly awarded works such as The Panama Deception an Academy Award Winning documentary.

  • Timothy Williams is the Composer for Gotham Café. Award winning composer Timothy Williams has written music for film, television and theatre. Film and TV credits include, Gone But Not Forgotten (Hallmark Entertainment), Half Past Dead-orchestrations (Sony Pictures), Time For Dancing, Prep School, Crosswalk and Weapon of Choice. TV Commercials include IBM and Carrier. Mr. Williams is also a composer for Disney scoring many of their live productions. His work for theatre includes West End and Toronto productions of Napoleon, Scheherarzade, and Scoring A Hit! His work has been released on Disney, Sony, EMI, BMG and First Night records.

  • We honor Howard Keel, beloved father of Leslie Keel. We thank Howard for his talent and legacy. We thank Leslie for being part of our family and we extend our love and thoughts to her and her family at this time.

  • We are pleased to announce Peter Samet as editor of Gotham Café. Peter Samet earned an M.F.A. in Film Production at USC's School of Cinema/ Television. There, he made a name for himself as a picture editor, cutting several films as well as an assortment of independent shorts, trailers, music videos, and Coca-cola Refreshing Filmmaker spots. Upon graduation in 2004, Peter was awarded Pixar Animation Studios' sole editorial internship after winning their annual competition. Peter currently lives in Los Angeles and works as a freelance editor on both film and television.

  • Kevin Brief (Humboldt) will be experiencing more work with prosthetic appliances. He is currently working on an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise  in which he plays an alien named NAARG.

  • Chaney Kley star of Darkness Falls will be stepping into the shoes of Steve Davis.

  • We would like to congratulate Kevin Brief, Humboldt, for landing a recurring role on the hit series Will and Grace.

  • Stanton Duke Snyder, who works in television and videos as well as styling artists on tour, is styling the locks of actress Julie Sands who plays Diane in Gotham. A few of his many credits include The Osbournes, Garbage and Courtney Love.

  • The special effects makeup team headed by Mike Pack of The Westmore Academy were busy with Gotham Café. There will be two never before seen makeup effects in the film and for those that are not near a festival don't despair we have exclusive stills for you.

  • Cullen Douglas, Guy, recently stopped by for his partial life cast on various body parts for his custom burn makeup. During his visit some makeup tests were initiated as Mike Pack created the subtle look of Guy to aid in the story telling.

  • The role of Humboldt went to Kevin Brief veteran actor of stage and screen. Kevin is perhaps most familiar from his many appearances on your television. He has appeared on well over fifty television shows. His credits include re-occurring roles on Chicago Hope, Wings, and Working. He has guest starred on shows such as Six Feet Under, Friends, ER, The West Wing, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Malcolm in the Middle, The Guardian, Karen Sisco, Murphy Brown, Coach and many, many more. Kevin has also had leads in network TV movies such as: Three Secrets with Jaclyn Smith, Dead Before Dawn with Cheryl Ladd—notice the Charlie's Angels connection—Gone in the Night, Live From Baghdad, Little John (Hallmark Hall of Fame) and several others. Some of his recent feature film credits include Guinevere (A Sundance winner), A Month of Sundays (with Rod Steiger, and a winner in the NY Independent Film Fest), The Rose Technique (with JoBeth Williams), Durango Kids, The Quickie (with Jennifer Jason Leigh), The Wild Card—and a lead opposite Sean Young in Threat of Exposure, now available at a video store near you. Kevin earned his MFA in Acting from the prestigious Asolo Conservatory in Florida. Prior to his arrival in Los Angeles, he worked on stages across the country performing leading roles at such theaters as Missouri Repertory, Asolo State Theater, Unicorn Theater, among others. His recent L.A. theater credits includes two award-winning productions at Third Stage—Additional Particulars and Glengarry Glen Ross, the world premiere of The Common Man at the Met Theatre. As a founding member of the Mud-luscious Theatre Ensemble, Kevin appeared in its acclaimed productions of The Seagull, The Three Sisters, The Hotel Baltimore, and Once in a Lifetime. Kevin also has a very successful career as a commercial and voice-over actor. You have seen and heard him countless times on your TV and radio and probably didn't even realize it.

  • A total departure from the work he does on film and television is Cullen Douglas' solo play, Afraid to Look Down

  • Gotham Café will be represented at the 1st Annual Dollar Baby Festival in Bangor, Maine. Although Gotham Café will not be ready to be screened in time for the fest Julie Sands the actress who plays Diane will be documenting the shoot and screening highlights in a special behind the scenes documentary for festival goers. This is the only time this archival footage will ever be exhibited. Click the poster at right for a larger (more legible) version.

  • Westmore AcademyWe are thrilled to announce Marvin G. Westmore and Michael S. Pack world renowned makeup artists of the Westmore Academy, will generously donate all of the materials, crew and talents as MAKEUP AND SPECIAL EFFECTS ARTISTS on the film Gotham Café. Mr. Pack is an acclaimed special effects artist who has contributed his talents to such programs as "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer," "Nip/Tuck", "Babylon 5" (Emmy nominated) and "The X Files." Feature films include the recent Planet of the Apes, Men in Black 2, Star Trek Nemesis, and Traffic, as well as Hulk and the Tom Cruise epic, The Last Samurai. Michael is also the creator of the "Bite Me" video, hailed as the most comprehensive source on making artificial teeth for films, television and stage.

  • 7/8/04: Bobby Lento who has trained Karl Urban from The Lord Of The Rings, Kevin Sorbo, Lucy Lawless, Ron Howard, Ridley Scott, and countless others is heading the Stunt Department on Gotham Café. He will be using his expert skills to insure Gotham's actors are safe and that the scenes are terrifyingly realistic. Bobby has a school called Swords in Burbank where he is Swordmaster and teaches fencing and theatrical combat. He also trains sports figures at Langton Boxing Gym in Burbank California.

  • 7/8/04: Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple computer, sponsor of the US Festivals, sponsor of San Jose museums and arts groups, teacher and practical joker, will be doing a cameo portraying an irate diner.

  • 6/11/04: Schedule permitting, acclaimed director Mick Garris will cameo in Gotham Café. He will add a Dark Tower element to the film by donning a clerical collar to portray Father Callahan in a tribute to King's magnus opus.

  • 6/2/04: A petition to bring Gotham Café to the Netherlands

  • 5/28/04: Dennis Calero, professional illustrator for the likes of Marvel, DC, Sony and Simon and Schuster has joined the Turtle Bay team and will be wielding his pen to storyboard Gotham Café.
