  • Wannsee 1942. A german drama movie about the Wannsee conference where the detail plans for the holocaust where drawn up. Heydrich and Eichmann were the men who handled acting on orders from Göring and Himmler who in their turn acted on orders from Hitler. Built on the protocol taken down by a secretary. Interesting but perhaps would have needed a bit more tensions between some of the participants to be really dramaric

Another play, a one man performance called Falling To Earth: My Summer With Bowie. A fictional account of a young Irish man's encounter with his icon when he gets a job working as a security guard at a recording studio. Really enjoyed it, very funny and deeply moving.

Would love to go to this.

  • Dept Q was inspired by another adaptation and there are 3 movies available on Prime.  Different actors but I might watch them even though they are the same story.

The Keeper of Lost Causes, The Absent One and A Conspiracy of Faith

  • The Ballad of Wallis Island (Amazon ppv or Peacock with ads). A quirky movie about a guy who hires a folk duo, long split, to play a command performance on a remote island. It stars Carey Mulligan, who I always like. It wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be, and the main character is, um, challenging, but it was entertaining enough.

  • We watched the live performance from Broadway of George Clooney's Good Night, and Good Luck on CNN via HBO MAX. Very timely.

I watched his interview about it. Smart, calm.

  • Just Watched The Beekeeper with Jason Statham. Actionpacked indeed but it was a bit too over the top for me. It wouldn'i have mattered if they throw a nuclear bomb at him, he would have survived that too. Which made me lose interest after awhile. So Meh. You could watch it to pass 2 hours but it will be  forgotten the next day.

  • I was watching 1408 on Pluto. I actually got scared and turned it off.
    And I've seen it before.

    I liked 1408. A lot of people didn’t. It is scary .

  • Re-watched The Dresser.

An aging cantankerous actor traverses Englsnd during the war performing all of Shakespeare's plays, the company survives by the skin of its teeth, despite in-fighting and constant bickering, and all the while the main star's dresser coerces and cajoles the star onto the stage each night keeping the show on the road.

Magnificent film, the performances are all top notch, but the two leads Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay  are outstanding.
