  • Pacific Rim 2013 - IMDb.....interesting, but I think Godzilla should have had a cameo.....

  • The Old Guard 2 Netflix Media Center......had high hopes for this one, but ultimately I was disappointed and the cliffhanger ending was far too abrupt....

  • Watched Ghost in the Shell with Scarlett Johansson and Juliette Binoche. It is one of those half american, half chinese movies that were made a lot of a few years back. Johansson is an android with a fully human brain that is transplanted into her skeleton. She is owned by a company and starts to doubt that her memories are real. But this Matrix meets Frankenstein meets Nikita never really takes off. So-so.

  • Watched, Jurassic World Rebirth.

Dinosaurs are old hat, people don't care anymore, but perhaps the dinosaurs can still be of benefit to mankind, their DNA may hold the key to life saving medicines. As the animals now only inhabit areas close to the equator a group of mercenaries heads in to try and obtain 3 different samples from specific species, but a gene spliced creation which has remained hidden for years emerges and derails their plans.

The seventh movie in the franchise, it's nothing new, nothing original, the effects are top notch as usual but honestly you've seen it all before.

What a fantastic movie. I mentioned that I just listened to the audiobook and have to tell you they're keeping it spot on, word for word.
Sean Penn's performance in this is just heart wrenching.

  • Watched a little horror flick yesterday to put me to sleep. Fear Street: Prom Queen. Based, i found out on a series of books by a R.L. Stine which i haven't read. Don't seem to have missed much. This was very much Slasher movie 1A. The whole dynamic is a band of evil girls (think Carries opponents) plus two weird but basically good girls and add assorted boyfriends and parents plus a boogeyman in a mask and let the slaughter begin. This was sup par for the genre i felt.

from sam raimi, this movie is so filled with shit happening in today’s world.  Self driving cars to morally bankrupt attitudes and self-righteous entitlement.  Who should get justice? And mercy? And understanding? Sympathy? You bounce back and forth - whose side are you on? Who is victim and who is the bad guy? Think you know? Yeah, I understood the anger on both sides.  We create the problem and then get pissed about it.

Bill Skarsgård is fantastic, one man alone on the screen 90% of the time. And Anthony Hopkins a voice for most of it.

It’s a reap-what-you-sow world, baby. But who has the moral high ground to decide which side gets what?

Interesting. I saw a recension on the internet by a guy i like and i have never seen him so crushed. The worst trash he'd ever seen. So bad it has actually ruined the first movie for him which he really liked. There was a comment on there that if the bar had been on the ground this movie would have buried itself i found strangely funny. He said his wife had gone to look for another comedy movie so they could get the bad taste out of their mouth! Hes usually rather composed and neutral so this was really unusual for him.

Yeah, i know.  I only meant it was interesting to hear two rather different takes on it. Not to say your take is invalid.

  • Watched 28 years later, third in the trilogy. The first was real good but i feel like it has been going downhill from there. The second was still good enough but this was another step down i felt.
