You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while…”
how was it?
I would have to go alone. No one around me wants to see this. I go to lots of movies alone, that’s no big deal to me, But I am leery about this one. I can sob so unexpectedly and intensely, this could go very weird for me and those around me.
Pro: I know it is going to be more powerful on the big screen. The images, the sound system, audience immersion and reactions— it’s what you might call, a “happening.”
I am concerned about unexpected sobs and verbal “holy shits.” You might say, “Bitch, control yourself.” And I will say, “Bitch, I try.”
Sit off to the side. Preferably left side as I think statistically people’s heads tend to look more right than left when casually looking around. I’m pretty sure Neil deGrasse Tyson will back me up on that claim.
I cried through the whole damn thing. My arms flew up in protection too many times. I looked down, I looked away. The cast was amazing.
i read someone say the book is more nihilistic and the movie more emotional. I think this movie was pretty damn nihilistic. Absolute fucking insanely brutal. And boy, if you don’t see that in the movie and feel emotion about that, you have lost your way.
