Something in Store

The publicist for The Blue Religion produced a very nice four-page press release about the anthology. It’s nice working with a publicist again. The book comes out on Tuesday, by the way, in both trade paperback and hardcover format, so my signing this weekend will provide attendees with the chance to get it a few days early.

I set up an Amazon-based store on my web site yesterday, with links to every book that contains my work I could track down, all the way back to Royal Aspirations III and Octoberland.

Last night I watched Boston Legal (on tape). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This is Shatner’s golden age. And James Spader gets some of the best soliloquies on television. The outcome of voting on Big Brother was pretty much a foregone conclusion. The evictee could even be seen miming the vote outcome with his fingers as it was announced: 3-0. I wonder if Josh will survive in sequester house. I’ve toyed with the idea of writing a story set inside a place like that. Criminal Minds reminded me a little of Dexter this week, with the notion of “assisted suicides.”

Read a few more chapters of Trauma by Patrick McGrath and the first half of King’s new novella, “A Very Tight Place” from McSweeney’s 27.
