I’ve been AWOL from the computer for the past couple of weeks, and it looks like I will be for an unforeseeable amount of the beginning of 2005. The term “palliative care” doesn’t even begin to describe the condition to which it applies. Things have been so wonky around here lately, that my wife and I put up the Christmas tree on Tuesday (the 28th) and we’ll celebrate Christmas tonight, on the way to the New Year.
I’ve been revising my novel, Missing Persons, and am still quite happy with what I read as I work my way through it. I haven’t gotten to despise the book yet, which is good. I’m about 100 pages in on this pass (out of about 330 in total) and I’ll soon be reaching the sections that require more work. I find I get my best revising done on hardcopy. When I work on the electronic version, I tend to line edit, or at best paragraph edit, but with the manuscript in hand and a nice inky pen, I can jump all over the place and have a better feel for the big picture.
See you all next year!
