Okay, so Grey’s Anatomy has this prime real estate, airing right after the football game last night. How do they exploit this to help increase their already-impressive numbers? Start out with a fantasy one-, two-, three-, no, four-some in the opening shot!
After that little moment of creative television (go George!) the episode settled down into something pretty impressive. Christina Ricci looked really good. Those huge eyes of hers. I was impressed by her performance, too, as the rookie paramedic with her finger on the pulse of the situation. I was severely pissed off, though, when it ended up to-be-continued. This is a fine TV show, in my opinion. Beats the pants of E.R. any day, and I used to watch E.R. back in its early days. What’d you think about the anesthetist? He made me angry, and then I put myself in his shoes.
I took Saturday off from writing, for the most part. I just didn’t feel in the mood. I did better yesterday and this morning, doing some heavy editing on chapters 38 and 39 of Missing Persons. Then I noticed something this morning, a bit of time dilation, that had me reconsider my timeline, so now I have to go back a bit and make sure I haven’t introduced any continuity errors. There’s also a chance that I’ll have to split one chapter into two because it spans too much time. I can’t cover Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in one chapter and then go back to just Monday for the next, for example. This is a completely linear novel, so I have to make sure there’s no back and forth of that sort.
Haven’t revisited the short story I started last week, though, and I hope it isn’t withering. It started off so well. I need to cogitate on it some more to see if I can give it a little CPR.
Yes, I did watch the Superbowl. I got a kick out of pretty much the same ads as other people, though I haven’t heard much mention of the Leonard Nimoy pain relief ad early in the game, which appealed to my inner geek.
