Recap shows

Grey’s Anatomy was one of those annoying recap shows. Why? There hasn’t been any hiatus to speak of.

C.S.I. was also a recap, of sorts, but one done right. It gave an overview of the entire history of the miniature killer saga, but did it with a new episode. It also let the main characters step into the background and focused almost entirely on a group of secondary characters. One of those “while the cat’s away” scenarios. Hodges got to come out of the bushes and shine on his “lucky day.” He’s still no more likeable, but he had his moment in the sun and actually unearthed a possible lead. The “rat” gag was fun, too.

Also a nice toss-up with Survivor—merge the teams, redivide them randomly and then send one group off to council with no chance to consult. If they were looking for something to shake up the group dynamics, that was it.

I’m still working on the first eight pages of my new short story. For the past two mornings, I’ve been going over it and over it again. I think I’m ready to move forward this weekend. I also have to get a handle on my next Storytellers Unplugged essay, and I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to write about. Any suggestions?
