“Feast of Stephen” is in the hands of the anthology editor, so now I can move on to other things. I have one book review to finalize and then I’m back at Missing Persons.
You know how we writers tend to drop hints that something big is in the offing, usually pertaining to New York or L.A. but how we can’t say anything at this point because nothing’s finalized and letting the cat out of the bag too soon might skewer the deal? Well, I’d never do that to you, but…, no, I won’t…I’d like to, but I shouldn’t. Nope. Not gonna go there… {g}
But stay tuned to this space during 2006…
Turns out that the Civilian Police Academy session for the spring has been canceled, so I’m going to have to wait until September for the next course. I’m a little disappointed—I was looking forward to the experience.
Cell comes out next week, but has started showing up in a few rogue bookstores already. Check out News From the Dead Zone online for links to news, reviews and contests related to the book.
Canada votes to elect a new Prime Minister on Monday. I sent in my absentee ballot a few weeks ago. Current estimates show that the incumbent Liberal party will get dumped in favor of a Conservative government led by Stephen Harper. It’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out. Will it be a majority or another minority? I’m kind of hoping for the latter, even though that means the new government probably wouldn’t last more than a year or so. The Liberals have been running things for over a decade, so it might be time for a change, but it would be nice to see the Conservatives have to walk carefully at first.
