Today’s the day for issue 3 of Gunslinger Born, if you’re following the graphic novel series. I’ll have to drive over to my favorite hole-in-the-wall comic shop after work to pick up my copy. It’s a fairly big store in a strip mall, about 15 feet wide by maybe 30 feet or even 40 feet long, with comic shelves on both walls and a long folding table in the middle for new releases. That’s it. I walk softly so I’m not deafened by the echo when I go in.
I spent the morning reading through research material for the MWA story. I have about 80 pages of a weblog written during a trial that I want to use as a rough model. Reading a printout of a weblog tests my logic, since the posts are in reverse chronological order. I wanted to start at the beginning, which means the last page. Then I’d have to go back to the subsequent entry and read toward the end, then skip back (or is it ahead) a page or two to find the next one. I was continually going in the wrong direction. It hurt my head. Good reading, though.
I ended up taping a lot of programmes last night. NCIS (though I watched most of the episode), The Unit, House, Boston Legal, Law and Order SVU (which I was going to skip until I saw the first few minutes—then I was hooked). The only show I watched completely was Law and Order Criminal Intent. Good thing I have a three-day weekend coming up to get caught up on all this video and DVR matter.
