This was a very good writing morning—just over 2000 words by the time I backed the document up. This is a new story, one that I’ve been cogitating over for the past couple of days. The deadline is at the end of April and the manuscript has to get to Canada, so I wasn’t sure I was going to make it. Still not sure, but it’s looking better. I thought I knew what I was writing about when I started this morning, but it turns out that I’m writing about something completely different. The original metaphor is intact, but it’s more of a lynchpin and less of the plot than I intended.
I watched Doctor Who: The Shakespeare Code last night, episode two of season three. An interesting depiction of the old bard, and I loved the interplay between Will and the Doctor. The witches were a tad lame—why do all of these aliens end up looking like Earthbound horror stereotypes?—but the visit to Bedlam was fun. These first two episodes have been moderately good, but not outstanding.
Two and a Half Men always makes me laugh out loud. This week’s episode was no exception. It would have been nice if Charlie’s new flame could have been a recurring character, but it looks like she’s gone. House was okay. The best part was the banter between House and Wilson as they tried to fake each other out. Last night’s episode actually described the “brilliant diagnostician'” M.O. Ask what 2+2 equals and then eliminate all the possible wrong answers.
