I lasted about five minutes into K-ville last night before I switched the TV off and returned to reading Exit Music. It was too much of a mish-mash and I found myself not really trying hard to pay attention to what was going on or caring about it. I think I got it on tape, so I might give it another shot sometime between now and episode 2, but I definitely wasn’t sold.
Received word this morning from the anthology editor that “Adrift” is officially accepted. That’s the story that I’ve been working on for the past month and the inspiration for yesterday’s Storytellers essay. The podcast version of that essay is now online, by the way, if you’d prefer to hear it in my dulcet tones. The anthology won’t be out until next year, so I’ll say more about that once I get a TOC and other details.
Tonight’s the Big Brother finale. Rumor has it that the judges raked D&D over the coals. Sour grapes, if you ask me. Each and every person in the sequester house was outplayed in one way or another. I’m looking forward to the big reveal about America’s Player tonight. I hope they give the cash to Dick rather than Daniele, because in so many ways she’s still very young and a half million dollars can be a big burden. Not sure that Dick is any wiser, but he’s more mature—sometimes.
Don’t forget to check out my eBay auctions for a chance to get some recent hardcovers and review copies cheap. Starting bids for all books is $4-$5. For some reason, I’ve had a lot of questions about postage for these books to Canada, the UK and Australia. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a cheap way to send books abroad. Even in just a padded mailer envelope, postage is over $10 and as much as $14 for some of the thicker books.
