A day off

I slept in this morning rather than getting up at 5 am to write. Since we have a long weekend coming up, I’ll make up for lost time on Monday, and then some.

Survivor was o-kay last night. Not outstanding, and the tribal council was one of the most boring I’ve seen in ages. I have no idea why the previews focused so much on James the gravedigger, since it was the women’s team that scored the winning point. What was up with the guy going naked for the wrestling competition? Did he think he’d gross out the other guys and make himself untouchable?

CSI was decent—the restaurant in the dark murder was funny, with all the stuff going on unrelated to the crime. They didn’t explore the Griss/Sara story as much as I thought they might, and there seems to be something going on with Sara that doesn’t bode well, based on the last few moments.

Law and Order: CI, now on USA, got off to a great start last night. Jazzed up intro music, and a storyline that really involved Goran and Eames. (d’Onofrio looks like he’s packed on some weight.) One of the reasons I like CI better than the other L&O shows, though I watch them, too, is the dynamics between Eames and Goran. Goran acts like he’s the boss, and yet it’s Eames who is the senior partner. Eames is normally very level emotionally, so it was nice to see her stretch out a little last night. And d’Onofrio is just so much fun to watch.

I have Grey’s Anatomy and Without a Trace on tape to watch this weekend.
