Survivor: Oh, well — it was worth a shot

I’m surprised that they made such a big deal about the Survivor proposal during the previews, but Jeff didn’t mention it at all during tribal council. Maybe he didn’t know about it yet? The fatal flaw in Bob’s plan with the fake idol was that the others would want to flush it out. To make it work, he should have enlisted one more person in secret—either Susie or Sugar, to get the number of votes he needed to save Corrine. Not that I necessarily wanted her to be saved—she’s a very bitter, mean-spirited person in the clips they’ve shown of her.

The online content from Ponderosa is interesting. Other than the footage of him getting his mohawk, he’s almost not present at all. Corrine and the other two men are clowning around together all the time, and Randy is sitting quietly in the background.

The interesting repercussion from this week’s episode, though, will be what happens when Matty realizes that someone from his group of five flipped on him. Kenny’s shown to be mad at Bob for lying in the previews for next week, but I can hardly wait to see Matty’s reaction.

What to say about Grey’s Anatomy? Izzie is still having ghost sex, and Dr. Rain Man looks like she might be hired onto the staff. If that was all the show had going for it, I’d be done, but there’s still all manner of interesting things going on. Yay Karev for doing his homework and getting the solo surgery. The transformative scene with Christine at the end was also well done. She’s stern and somber so much of the time that it’s delightful to see her smile like that.

Walter is keeping me hooked on Fringe, too. It was pretty clear that someone had to get stuck going through the bank vault door. The trip to the hardware store was pretty funny. “You don’t need to phone the police, miss,” Walter’s son says after Walter tells her that he needs a power saw to cut up a human body.
