Going to crazy town

Best line from this week’s NCIS comes from Abby. “If I keep going to crazy town every time one of you is injured, I’m going to have to have my mail forwarded.” The Mentalist was decent this week, but I still question the logic of having the actual CBI officers playing comic relief. I can’t help but wonder how much better the show would be if they played it straight instead of tongue in cheek.

We’ve come up with a title for the book I’m working on. And the publisher conveyed a very positive response to the outline, so I’m hoping they like the first installment that I’ll be delivering to them next week. I got another 900 words down this morning on Chapter 7, bringing me into the 17000 word range, about 57% of the way through my target word count.

We finally got someone to come out and look at our roof, which sustained minor damage from Ike. Repairs are necessary, of course, but nothing major. In the weeks after the storm, roofers from across the U.S. invaded the area and aggressively pitched their services–at a premium, of course. Unfortunately, when the contractors from out of state left, they took with them the backing for the warranties on their work. Not terribly easy to get them to come back for warranty work when they’re no longer in the area.

So, the actors who play Dexter and his sister just got married. Seems a little weird. However, it must be remembered that they aren’t really brother and sister. Dexter was adopted, after all.

We were in the 20s overnight, but then it got really nice during the daytime, up to the 60s. Back down to the 20s again tonight.
