I started working on my book review of Spade & Archer last night, but I was late getting home from the office and then there was the press conference, so I didn’t get very far. A big laugh on the television networks that thought the whole thing was going to be over in 30 minutes. I guess they must have used #43 as the precedent but, boy, once this guys starts talking he just doesn’t quit, does he? I’m not sure he ever directly answered a journalist’s question, even if he spent five minutes saying things that he wanted to say in response to one.

I like him.

I reached the end of a pen-and-paper edit of the manuscript that I will be delivering to the editor in three days. This morning I keyed in the revisions from the first ten chapters and I’ll get the rest of them in this evening. After that, I expect my remaining work will be done at the computer.

The Closer was a kick last night. It’s not often that the bad guy gets away with it, but he sure had them over a barrel last night. The part where the guy they had in the interrogation room gave them the name of his accomplice was hilarious. At some level, I suspected who it was all along, but that didn’t alleviate the surprise when it was confirmed. I gather that they aren’t finished with their killer/rapist yet. No way, no how.

I’m still hanging in with 24. The do a pretty good job of tying up some situations and bringing up new challenges rather than trying to stretch out a single crisis for the entire run. The final shot (literally) was a bit of a surprise.
