Murder and Mayhem

Everyone's favorite serial killerStill banging away at the new Chapter 1 of my novel. I spend a lot of time rewriting the early stuff and then getting a little farther each morning. I’m getting close to the end of the chapter. Hopefully by Friday.

Everyone’s favorite serial killer is back. Season 4 of Dexter got off to a rousing start with a fascinating bathtub scene featuring Jonathan Lithgow. I was pleasantly surprised to see Agent Lundy (Keith Carradine) back. My favorite scene was the one where they riff off the opening credits, except everything goes a bit south, including the soundtrack. I wonder what will happen as a consequence of the final few seconds. Had Dexter finished cleaning up? One can only hope so.

Castle took its stab at the famous Strangers on a Train scenario this week. It seems like just about every crime show has to do that at least once. Everyone has their own spin on it, too. The bet was funny, too, especially once Beckett showed she can be fun and played along, too.

9 Dragons by Michael Connelly is taking an interesting direction…all the way over to Hong Kong. Bosch hasn’t gotten there yet, but I look forward to what transpires when he does. I’m fairly familiar with the former territory, all the way from Kowloon up to the New Territories. My All Hallows story “Unknown Soldier” is set in Hong Kong, inspired by my two visits there in the early 1990s.

The entomologist on Big Bang Theory was hilarious. He stole the scene. The best stuff usually happens when Penny and Sheldon get together because they are matter and antimatter. And I knew that the solution to Charlie and Alan’s problem was going to be their secret weapon. Mom. She knows exactly the right words to say to stir things up.
